Located in Clewiston, Florida, America’s
“Sweetest City”, Hendry Regional Medical Center is Hendry
County’s only acute-care hospital. For more than 50 years,
HRMC has served the changing needs of the people here and in Glades
County, with a spirit of caring and respect for our patients, visitors,
physicians, employees, volunteers and friends.
HRMC is a county tax-district hospital offering
a wide spectrum of healthcare services including 24/7 emergency
care, inpatient and outpatient surgery, diagnostic services, physical
and occupational rehabilitation, cardiac rehab, pediatric and women’s
services.
Our physicians and highly-credentialed professionals,
representing a wide range of medical specialties, have brought to
our region a commitment to caring which is truly making a difference.
We are proud to be fully accredited by the Joint
Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO).
Accreditation recognizes our compliance with national quality standards
intended to help achieve the highest level of performance, increase
desirable outcomes and create an environment for continuous improvement.
Organization and Governance
HRMC is an acute-care facility licensed
for 66 beds and operated by the Hendry County Hospital Authority,
which was created in 1967, to acquire, construct, and maintain hospitals
and hospital facilities in Hendry County.
The Authority is composed of five elected members
(Board of Directors) who govern the Authority for four-year terms
and represent each of the five districts of the county. The Board
of Directors is the policy making body of HRMC and is authorized
to levy an annual ad valorem tax upon all taxable property within
Hendry County. Approximately 96% of the tax proceeds are used by
HRMC to offset the cost of uncompensated care.
